Shipping your skull to us
Ship via FedEx, UPS or U.S. Mail to our Oklahoma City processing building, or drop it off in person. Follow the steps below and your trophy arrives in good shape — leaky or foul-smelling parcels can be discarded by the carrier.
Step by step
Pack it so it arrives the way it left.
Mark the box “Taxidermy Items”
Federal law requires packages containing wildlife parts to be clearly marked. Writing “Taxidermy Items” on the box does it.
Freeze the head
Freeze heads solid before shipping.
Wrap in newspaper
Newspaper absorbs the excess moisture that would otherwise soak the box.
Bag it — more than once
Tie heads in multiple plastic bags so nothing seeps out and ruins the box in transit.
Use a cooler or a sturdy box
A Styrofoam or hard-sided cooler is ideal. A sturdy box filled with cedar woodchips also controls moisture and odor. Hard-sided coolers are returned on request.
Keep parcels under 70 lbs
Heavier parcels can tear open during shipping and lose or damage specimens.
Pack it tight
Secure each item with plenty of packing material. A weak box with little packing is how specimens arrive damaged — and we can't take responsibility for those.
Ship on a Monday
We prefer FedEx air on a Monday so it arrives by Friday. Ship FedEx ground only on a Monday — a parcel that sits over a weekend can spoil and be thrown away by the carrier. U.S. Mail works too; add delivery confirmation.
FedEx first, UPS second
FedEx has consistently given our customers the best service. UPS may also be used.
Include the packing list
Download the packing listA packing list of the enclosed items must accompany the shipment so nothing is overlooked. Put it in a zip-lock bag taped to the outside of the box.

Drop-offs are welcome at our Oklahoma City processing building during business hours. During deer season, call ahead about weekend and after-hours drop-offs.

PAYMENT
DO NOT SEND PAYMENT WITH ORDER
Credit Card: Your credit card is preferred. You will not be invoiced until your order is completed. If you are a regular customer and we have your card number on file your order will be returned without being notified when your order is complete, unless you request to be contacted.
Check: If you prefer to pay by check or money order, please wait for your acknowledgement to receive a statement of costs.
RETURN SHIPMENT and bio-hazard fee
The cost of cleaning in the price list does not include return shipping or the 7.5% surcharge for waste disposal. Every effort will be taken to assure proper and safe return of your specimens. Each order is insured for the cost of cleaning services only, plus a fair market value for the specimen. If excessive insurance is desired, you must notify us in advance. Please allow as much as 20% of your total for return shipping. Due to fluctuating oil costs, shipping charges are subject to change.
